After closely studying the Kerria japonica plant, I represented it graphically with sufficient detail for identification.

Kerria japonica. The plant has multiple delicate, golden yellow flowers composed of narrow petals. The leaves are single-veined and doubly serrated with one leaf at each node on the stem.

Drafting graphics. Using photos of the plants as guides, I drew the plants in Illustrator being careful to use anchor points minimally. I had difficulty depicting the individual flower petals as well as the leaf serrations.

Revising graphics. With feedback from my instructor and peer, I made refinements to the graphics. The key revision was depicting the flower petals individually, thus improving the integrity to the original plant.

Adding color! The color palette that I used was inspired by the natural colors of the plant. After coloring the plant, I added some promotional text.
